The City of Punta Gorda will be holding a Citizen Summit on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association. This family-friendly community event is geared towards increasing communication and collaboration between City staff and residents, helping the City gain feedback for its Strategic Plan update, and providing important information and education about City services, projects, and initiatives. We have an area dedicated for local nonprofits and service organizations to share information with residents and would love to partner with local businesses to provide food, field games, and entertainment. Looking to have some fun while giving back to your favorite local charity? Join us on Sunday, March 23rd as C.A.R.E. Auxiliary hosts their annual Dart Tournament at the Ice House Pub. Located at 408 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda. Registration is $25.00 per player, tournament begins at 3:00pm. Sign-ups can be made by emailing auxiliary@gmail.com or in person day of event. Rich cultural experiences are coming to the heart of Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach as ZimSculpt, a renowned exhibition of Zimbabwean stone sculptures, returns to Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens. From February 8 through April 20, 2025, the Gardens will host over 2,000 hand-carved stone sculptures. The exhibition, which is only presented in North America once a year, offers a rare opportunity to view and purchase these unique works of art. Two artists will be on-site daily, demonstrating and sharing insights into the stone carving process.
