August promises to be an exciting month for the Charlotte Chamber

The month of August is packed with vibrant opportunities for all our members for professional development, building connections and establishing beneficial business relationships.

I encourage our membership to participate and engage to further invest into the growth and success of your business. These events are strategically planned with purpose and a payoff.

Our events offer valuable networking opportunities, allowing members to connect with local business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders. Active participation helps build relationships, build collaborations, and develop a strong support system within the community. Engaging in these activities demonstrates a commitment to the local economy and community welfare, enhancing credibility and visibility for individuals and businesses alike.

  • Stages of Success Workshop, 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1 at the Realtor Association Building, 3320 Loveland Blvd, Port Charlotte. The topic is “Making Marketing Make Sense,” with presenter Jacob Winge, TLC Marketing & Creative Services.This workshop is designed to help small businesses, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs stop guessing and start planning — Learn how to define your audience and goals, identify best platforms, what to say and how often to say it, and what belongs in a 30-60-90 day marketing plan.
  • Network at Noon Lunch, 11:45 a.m. Aug. 13 at 88 Keys, The Wyvern Hotel, 101 E. Retta Esplanade, Punta Gorda. You’ll enjoy a delicious selection of lunch options and network with the best.
  • Third Wednesday Coffee, 8-9 a.m. Aug. 20 ta Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center, 75 Taylor St., Punta Gorda. Coffee Sponsor is Wampler Varner Insurance. Guest speakers are Florida House Reps. Danny Nix (District 75) and Vanessa Oliver (District 76), who will present a comprehensive update of the legislative session up in Tallahassee. I anticipate this being a sold-out event … register early.
  • Business Card Exchange, 5-7 p.m. Aug. 28 at Port Charlotte Rehabilitation Center, 25325 Rampart Blvd., Deep Creek. Food, refreshments, and a fun icebreaker for all to enjoy. Please bring a gift to promote your business.

RIBBON CUTTINGS:

Ribbon cuttings are an effective way to meet the business owners — and fellow chamber members — in an informal atmosphere and develop great connections.   • Right at Home Punta Gorda grand opening, 5-6 p.m. July 31, 525 E. Olympia Ave., Suite 7, Punta Gorda. Ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. Food, refreshments, and facility tours.
  • Sonic Healthcare USA, noon-1 p.m. Aug. 5, 18316 Murdock Circle, Suite 105, Port Charlotte. Ribbon cutting at 12:30 p.m. Food and refreshments provided.
  • Elite DNA Behavioral Health open house, 3:30-5 p.m. Aug. 14, 8026 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice. Ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Catered food, refreshments, and two raffle giveaways for attendees.
  • Big D’s Donuts & Bagels, 7:30-8:30 a.m. Aug. 18 at 2320 Tamiami Trial, Unit 5, Port Charlotte. Ribbon cutting at 8 a.m. Start your morning right with the best donut sample.
  • Ideal Retirement Solutions new locations, 5-6 p.m. Aug. 26 at 17896 Toledo Blade, Port Charlotte. Ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. Food and refreshments provided.

SPECIAL EVENT

The 100th Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce Annual Anniversary Awards Gala is 5-10 p.m. Sept. 27 at Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center. Formal attire. This special event marks a century of leadership, advocacy, collaboration, community growth, and success, and you are all part of this momentous celebration.

Please join us for a celebratory evening of networking, distinguished awards, and memorable moments as we honor outstanding members and community leaders who have contributed to our shared success over the past century.
