Charlotte County Chamber welcomes new teachers

August 7, 2023

On Monday, July 31, the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce hosted its 37th Annual New Teachers’ Breakfast at the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center. Charlotte County Public Schools welcomed 150-plus new teachers’ for this coming school year.

In addition to the new teachers, 150 of our members sponsored a new teacher and had the pleasure of having breakfast with them, got to know them, and shared about the wonderful aspects of Charlotte County.

It was an honor to hear from the new superintendent of Charlotte County Public Schools, Mark Vianello. Superintendent Vianello addressed the 300-plus attendees with words of encouragement and motivation. In addition, on behalf of the Charlotte County Chamber, our board president, Steve Lineberry, presented Bonnie Powell of Lemon Bay High School with the 2024 Teacher of the Year Award. Our New Teachers’ Breakast was a very special event, as each new teacher received a “Welcome Bag” filled with needed school supplies that were provided by many of our sponsors.

We would like to convey our appreciation and special thanks to our Title Sponsor, Lake Michigan Credit Union. Natalie Proctor, Branch Manager spoke about going through the entire Charlotte County School system and now has her two children following in her footsteps.

To all our new teachers, we wish you a classroom filled with students who are eager to learn, well-mannered and makes you proud to be their teacher. We wish you the very best and a heartfelt “thank you” for all you do for our children in Charlotte County.
