New chamber president’s message is ACT: Advocate, Connect, Thrive
As the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce celebrated our 100th Anniversary celebration, our incoming president, James Coalwell, Crews Bank & Trust, shared his strategic, intentional, and pivotal message to our membership: ”As the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce comes off our 100th Anniversary celebration gala, it was my honor to be inducted as the 100th board president BUT that was not the only the title that changed!
”Bob White received a well-deserved promotion to Chief Executive Officer. When you see Bob in public, please congratulate him!
”Also at the gala, we announced this year’s chamber strategic focus: A.C.T., standing for Advocate, Connect and Thrive.
”Part of the chamber’s core mission is to be your indispensable partner for the business community of Charlotte County. The primary way the chamber accomplishes this goal is by standing shoulder to shoulder with our members to learn what matters most to you!
”For a full century, this chamber has been at the heart of our community; connecting businesses together, supporting local growth and championing the spirit of collaboration that defines who we are.
”Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a recent arrival or just simply passing though, I invite you to use our Community Guide and Membership Directory to explore all that Charlotte County has to offer.
”I encourage you to shop local and shop the businesses featured in this guide. It is these businesses and the individuals within those businesses that comprise the fabric of our strong and resilient business community. It is your continued support and participation in local events that breathe life into our mission and ensure we remain strong for the next 100 years.
”Speak up! Is my first ask of my fellow chamber members. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the chamber office or pull myself, Bob or any board member aside when you see us. Tell us where you are stuck and we can help you find the resources that you need.
”We have built connections and have the resources, materials, and information needed to help the business community succeed.
”If you are more of the DIY type, then please remember the chamber has built a wonderful resource guide on our website and it is getting better by the day.
”Realizing that success is a team sport, building connections is another important way the chamber serves as an advocate for the business community. By building strong and fruitful relationships with local government, elected officials, and other special community stakeholder groups in our community.
”The chamber can advocate where it counts for important topics such as continuing and building business friendly policies, attracting new businesses and jobs, development of infrastructure that keeps pace with growth, and enhancing local education initiatives to grow talent pipelines.
”As we celebrate 100 years of impact, we also look forward with great optimism and commitment to be Advocates for our business community and Connecting with community stakeholders to advance a Thriving community. We invite you to ACT with us.”
