A true season of giving
The Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be able to assist two amazing organizations within our community. Our office will be a drop-off location for essential items needed for Charlotte CARE Center (formally the Homeless Coalition) and for Valerie’s House.
Charlotte CARE Center is having their Annual Holiday Food Drive. Items needed are stuffing mix, gravy, chicken and beef broth, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, carrots, cream of mushroom or chicken soup, pie filling, cooking oil, disposable pans, Ziploc bags (all sizes), cornbread mix, biscuit mix, canned pumpkin, and canned yams/sweet potatoes.
Valerie’s House is an organization to help children and families work through the loss of a loved one together and will go on to live fulfilling lives. Their vision is No Child Will Grieve Alone. Valerie’s House has their Holiday Wish List for children from ages from 5-12, 13-18, and family caregivers.
Ages 5-12 needs earbuds, tablets, cars/trucks, barbie/baby dolls, action figures, lego sets, arts and crafts kits, footballs, basketballs, scooter, skateboards, Disney toys, etc.
Ages 13-18 needs Fitbits, make-up/nail polish sets, sports team attire, comfy blankets and pillows, cell phone accessories, purses and wallets, headphones and earbuds, tie-dye kits, hoodies, inexpensive jewelry, reusable aluminum water bottles, and Bluetooth speakers.
Family and Caregivers could use adult coloring books, drawing tools, puzzles, crosswords, sudoku and word -search games, gift cards, family board games, card games bath sets and lotions, and movie passes.
This is truly a season of giving! If you are able to provide any of the essential items listed for these two organizations, please come by the chamber office and it would be a pleasure to meet and thank you for your generosity.

- Network at Noon lunch, 11:45 a.m. Nov. 12 at Pioneer Pizza Express, 2686 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte. Enjoy a selection of salads, a full array of pizza options, and dessert while you network with your favorite chamber family.
- Third Wednesday coffee, 8-9 a.m. Nov. 19 at 3320 Loveland Blvd., Punta Gorda (location change). Coffee sponsor is Florida Central Credit Union. Guest speaker will be Dan Revallo, Director of Internal Audits at the Charlotte County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s office. He will present an overview of the services provided by the Clerk’s Office.
RIBBON CUTTINGS
Ribbon cuttings are an effective way to meet the business owners — and fellow chamber members — in an informal atmosphere and develop great connections. - Eirene Ranch grand opening, 4-6 p.m. Nov. 19, at 10531 SW Kissimmee Road, Arcadia. Ribbon cutting at 5 p.m. There will be refreshments, appetizers, giveaways, raffle and tours of the facility. Meet the horses. Wear comfortable shoes.
- Charlotte Players 65th Anniversary, 4-6 p.m. Nov. 25, at 1185 Market Circle, Port Charlotte. Ribbon cutting at 5 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available.
SPECIAL EVENTS
- 47th Annual Charlotte County Chamber Christmas Parade, noon-1:30 p.m. Dec. 13. Our parade theme this year is “Elf Village Celebration.” We welcome the entire community to come on out and bring the kids, grandkids, and the entire family to enjoy one of the best community events of the year! The parade kicks off at noon at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center and then goes south on Taylor Street to the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center. We will have a very special visitor all the way from the North Pole. Thousands of spectators line the sidewalk of the parade route. Make sure you come out early to get a great view of the parade. Whether you are a member of our chamber or not, you are able to participate in our parade. Visit charlottecountychamber.org to complete your registration form. Entry fee is $50 if you represent a for-profit business, $35 for nonprofits.
- The 15th Annual Community & Business Expo is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 19, 2026 at Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center, 75 Taylor St., Punta Gorda. This is free and open to the public. Imagine marketing your business in an 8-by-10-foot booth (piped and draped) and having 1,000 plus visitors and residents see the products and services you provide. You will have the opportunity to see more folks in a matter of 5 hours than you may see in a month. This will be an excellent opportunity to maximum business exposure for sales, lead generation and develop great connections. Plus, there will be more than 100 other exhibitors for business-to-business to develop client/customer relationships. Deadline to reserve you booth is Jan. 6. There will be no late entries accepted.
