The Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda is now accepting poetry submissions in conjunction with the15th Biennial National Art Exhibition. Visit the exhibition, explore inspiring artwork from talented artists across the country, and select a piece that sparks your imagination. Write an original poem in response to the artwork that moves you most. Deadline for submission is March 12 for a chance to read at our “Evening of Poetry & Art” on March 18 from 6 - 8 PM. On Saturday, March 21, TEAM Punta Gorda (TEAM) volunteers will be holding their annual cycling event, Pedal and Play in Paradise. An annual event, Pedal and Play draws some 400 cyclists to the area. There are four different rides of varying lengths and difficulties, all of which start and end in Laishley Park. This bicycling event includes many extras including free t-shirts to the first 400 registered riders, continental breakfast, music, yoga warm-up, lunch, beer, massage, and more.
