Attached is a press release announcing the launch of Tech Tide Market, a new community vendor market at Charlotte Technical College that will support SkillsUSA students while providing an opportunity for local small businesses and vendors to showcase their products. The market will kick off this fall and feature local vendors, food trucks, hands-on activities, and more, with proceeds helping students participate in SkillsUSA competitions and other career development opportunities. A rain barrel workshop will be held on Aug. 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Centennial Park Recreation Center, 1120 Centennial Blvd. Pt. Charlotte. During the month of July, Sea Grape Gallery will be featuring jewelry designer, Nancy VanTassell. Nancy has been creating art of some nature since childhood; in 2004 she became obsessed with jewelry designing. After moving to Florida from Poughkeepsie, New York, and eventually into retirement, Nancy decided to focus on her love for jewelry making and her obsession with wire weaving. Charlotte County has a new online Community Speaker Request form to make it easy to request speakers for meetings and events. Community groups, HOAs and other organizations can invite county staff to present on a variety of topics, including public services and infrastructure.
