The Charlotte County Imagination Library (CCIL) has received a grant from the United Way of Charlotte County to support early childhood literacy for local children from birth to age five. Grant recipients were vetted through UWCC’s Community Impact Panel process, led by local volunteers who evaluated programs based on community need, measurable outcomes, transparency, and accountability. The Visual Arts Center welcomes renowned watercolor artist and educator Teresa Kirk to Punta Gorda in February 2026 as juror for the 15th Biennial National Art Exhibition. Kirk will select award-winning works for this prestigious national showcase of two-dimensional art. The Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda invites the public to experience the prestigious 15th Biennial National Art Exhibition, on view February 13 through March 26, 2026. This juried national competition showcases two-dimensional artwork by artists from across the United States, selected by nationally recognized juror Teresa Kirk. On Saturday, March 21, TEAM Punta Gorda (TEAM) volunteers will be holding their annual cycling event, Pedal and Play in Paradise. An annual event, Pedal and Play draws some 400 cyclists to the area. There are four different rides of varying lengths and difficulties, all of which start and end in Laishley Park. This bicycling event includes many extras including free t-shirts to the first 400 registered riders, continental breakfast, music, yoga warm-up, lunch, beer, massage, and more.
